Message from the Board

Our fiscal year ending July 31, 2025 saw Arnica Foundation greatly expand our services to help adolescent girls and young women grow into emotionally strong and powerful women. We were able to meet our fundraising goal, and we are extremely grateful to our Donors for continuing to support our work.

In the past year, Arnica Foundation has grown financial access to therapy by providing 29 families and 54 individuals with financial subsidies for 519 hours of therapy. With your support, these young women are on the path to become community leaders in whatever profession they chose.

Arnica Foundation is also funding the development of three therapists in the specialized treatment of adolescent girls and young women at Juno House. One therapist will complete her residency in February 2026, a second is in her second of three years, and a third will begin her residency training in February 2026. This three year residency pulls together training utilizing Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Affective Neuroscience — science – based approaches that are key in the specialized treatment of adolescent girls, young women, and their families.

We are also very proud to have hosted our second 2 day, in-person workshop in April 2025 for 46 local therapists: The Power of Showing Up: Clinical Application of Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Supporting Parents of Teens with the Brain in Mind. The workshop was led by Los Angeles-based Tina Payne Bryson, PhD, clinician, consultant, and internationally recognized author of two New York Times Best Sellers The Whole-Brain Child and No-Drama Discipline, and The Yes Brain and The Power of Showing Up,  co-authored with Dan Siegel.

In a first for Arnica Foundation, Tina also led a public presentation for parents at Mount Royal University on ‘Parenting with the Brain in Mind.’ Drawing on the cutting edge science and ideas in her books, the presentation used stories and humour to teach practical information about a child’s brain and offer a new perspective on some of the most pressing concerns, along with some tools and strategies for addressing them. It was attended by over 220 parents, grandparents and students from Mount Royal College’s Social Work and Early Intervention programs.

Arnica Foundation also grew our community support with presentations that focus on early parenthood training, emotional coaching for parents, and the effect of technology on the adolescent brain. Presentations were made online through Recovery Alberta and in person at schools. A total of 11 community presentations were made to 1114 participants up from 289 attendees last year.

Arnica Foundation looks forward to continuing to deliver on our charitable objectives in the upcoming year. Once again, the Board thanks you for your trust in Arnica Foundation. Your generosity has provided us with a solid foundation to help grow adolescent girls and young women and their families.
